Liebster Award!

About a week ago I was nominated by the beautiful Marie of Marie's Bazaar for the Liebster award!

The purpose of this award is to recognize the hard work of new + upcoming bloggers and to introduce you to new bloggers to follow. Once someone is nominated, they are asked to answer a series of eleven questions that reveals information about them you may not find out in their daily posts. They are then asked to nominate 11 new bloggers.

1: How did you get into blogging?

I've been fashion obsessed for as long as I can remember! One day in college I started a blog - it was one of those reposting pictures that inspire you kind of blogs (think They All Hate Us). But that quickly faded and I didn't keep up with it. A fashion blog chronicling my outfits, life, etc. was something I always wanted to but I wanted to make sure I did it right. Well, that turned into waiting much too long to post it when finally one day my boss called me into his office and showed me his friend's blog and said, "This is something you should definitely be doing." So I did. He gave me that extra push I needed to launch Sweet & Sauer. I'm new to the blogging world and definitely learning as I go but it's been such a fun journey so far!

2: If you could have anyone's closet, who's would you want?

I have to choose just one?! That's tough. So I'll pick two :) I'd love to have Lauren Conrad's closet, I lover her simple yet chic style. I'd also love to have Olivia Palermo's closet. She's such a style icon to me and always puts together such beautiful outfits.

3: Who's your celebrity crush?

I've always had a crush on Adam Brody ever since the OC days. I have a weakness for funny guys, plus he has a cute smile :)

4: First thing you would do if you won the lottery?

Travel! Ok and maybe a little shopping.

5: One song on your playlist you're embarrassed by but would never delete?

Oh man that's tough. My playlist ranges from Rap to House to Acoustic to Pop. I'd probably have to say my Shawn Mendes songs? Listening to a 16 year olds pop music seems slightly embarrassing, but they're so good!

6: You're going to a dinner party tonight, what are you cooking?

I love to cook! My current favorite receipe is hummus crusted chicken with veggies. I've been making it at least once a week. Here's the recipe. Otherwise I'd bring a yummy salad - my specialty!

7: All time favorite TV Show?

Gossip Girl. I'm also a sucker for bad reality TV, and anything on Bravo.

8: What's one beauty product you can't live without?

I have to pick one?! Hair product would be Batiste Blonde dry shampoo - I'm not kidding, I go through a bottle a week and buy it in bulk. Makeup product would probably be bronzer or mascara - both have a way of just brining that extra life to your face!

9: You're at Starbucks, what do you order?

Iced coffee with 1/2 vanilla, 1/2 cinnamon syrup and soy milk. Delish!

10: What's your cure for a bad day?

A killer Pure Barre class, a glass of wine, and some bad reality TV. Works every time :)

11: What's a fashion trend from your childhood that you would bring back?

Ooo I don't know! I'd say ripped jeans and Birkenstocks but those have already made a comeback. Jean skirts anyone? Jk ;)

Sweater: Target / Pants: H&M / Shoes: Steve Madden / Necklace: Inspyre Boutique (similar here) / Sunglssses: Ray-Ban

It's that time of the year! Spring is starting to show its colors! I found this perfect yellow sweater at Target the other day and fell in love! It's the perfect transitional piece as the weather starts to get warmer. I've paired it with jeans and boots (look can be found on my Instagram) and with my favorite pants as shown here! If you missed my post on these pants, be sure to check that out here. I can't wait to wear this sweater with shorts and skirts and lighter hues come Spring/Summer.

Don't you just love awesome Target finds?!

Rocksbox Review & Code!

Well, I had my first blog fail. I meant to post this on Wednesday, but life got in the way. My sincere apologies. Now on to the good stuff... Rocksbox! This seems to be the latest thing in jewelry and so many awesome bloggers are participating, myself included. When Rocksbox approached me to be an RBItGirl I was flattered! I LOVE jewelry and the Rocksbox concept is perfect for all jewelry lovers.

Here's the gist. The concept is kind of like Netflix and Birchbox combined. You fill out a style profile and they send you three carefully selected pieces each month. From there you can either keep any of your pieces by paying 20% off the retail price, or send them back and receive a new box of pieces to try out. Monthly subscription price is $19/month.

I was a little skeptical at first - renting jewelry? But I'm definitely a fan of try before you buy and discovered Rocksbox is pretty legit! You can wear your jewelry with your wardrobe, and if it doesn't work, send it back! So far I've been pleasantly surprised - from the pieces I received to the selection of jewelry they offer, Rocksbox is on point.

I loved my first box! I received a ring, bracelet and statement necklace and I loved every piece! I definitely wore the necklace the most as it really paired well with both dressy and casual outfits. The ring and bracelet were also beautiful, but I decided I wanted to wait and spend money on more statements pieces.  The bracelet was great for stacking with other pieces in my collection, and the ring was very unique piece that was simple enough for everyday wear while still having a special element to it that made it stand outd.

Overall I'm very excited about Rocksbox and I can't wait to see what my next box has in store! See details of my box below.

All the pieces come wrapped in this cute little box!

Wanderlust + Co Double Spike Silver Cuff

I love the simplicity of this bracelet and the visual interest the spikes add.

I'm not a huge ring person, but this ring I really loved! Simple, yet unique.

Kristine Lily Druzy POP Ring in Black Quartz and Silver

SLATE Chromium Crystal Necklace

How gorgeous is this?! I love how it paired with my Aritzia tshirt.

I also wore it with a black tshirt and blazer and it stood out perfectly (horrible pic, but you get the idea).
