Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend! I spent the weekend putting my room back together after getting new furniture (which you already know about if you follow me on Snapchat - @mallorysauer). Other than that I just rested, I'm still not feeling 100% myself yet. Each day is progress, though!

Today I'm sharing a fun, easy look that I just love. This formula always works for me: graphic top  (or any great t-shirt really), boyfriend jeans, leather jacket, cute shoe. It's just easy and fun! These jeans are super comfortable and I love the distress. Is it just me, or are boyfriend jeans only cute if they have some distress happening? I love that this outfit is easy to throw on and has a little edginess to it.

The necklace and bracelets I'm wearing are from Park Lane Jewelry and they have the CUTEST stuff! They're hooking up Sweet & Sauer readers - use 'SWEETANDSAUER' for $10 off $30+ or $25 off $75+

Have a great week, thank you for stopping by!

Hi!! Man it feels good to be blogging again! I haven't done a post in a while and that kills me, but I had some unforeseen health problems come up (if you're curious you can read more about that here) that put a lot of my blogging projects on the back burner. But I'm back and have lots of fun outfits and stuff to share with you!

Today's post is all about basics. This entire outfit is the epitome of some of my favorite closet staples, in my opinion. This is an outfit that I live in and is perfect for these random cold days we have in Colorado as we transition into Spring. Plus I just really love fur vests so I'll take any excuse to wear them before it becomes too hot. I really love this one from NXSW - the fit and color are great and it feels luxurious without the luxury price tag. I added this fun bralette for a little extra edge. I thought the front detail was super fun and adds a fun little something to the look. Anytime I'm struggling to put an outfit together, I always throw on this tee and my leather leggings and head out the door. Every piece in this outfit is a closet staple because you can get so much wear out of each item! Let me break it down for you.

1. White Tee: It should be no secret that I LOOOVE a good white v-neck tee, and this Z Supply tee is my absolute FAVORITE. I have it in 4 colors. Excellent fit, goes with everything and just super comfortable. White tees go with everything. Having the perfect one in your closet is a must.

2. Fur Vest: Instantly adds an extra little something to an outfit. Throw it on over your basic tee like I did to jazz up a simple outfit, pair with your favorite dress for a little extra something - the possibilities are endless. And there are a ton of great vests on sale right now so perfect time to stock up! I've linked some good ones in the tool below.

3. Leather Pants: These have almost replaced my jeans. I live in these leather leggings. My first pair were faux leather because I wasn't quite sure how I felt about the trend, but after two years I'm sold. Investing in a high quality pair that will last forever was something I'm glad I did given how much I wear leather leggings. They seriously go with everything and, again, can add just that extra little edge to an otherwise simple outfit.

What are your favorite closet staples? Thanks for stopping by!

When Life Gives You Lemons: Health Update

I know a lot of you have been wondering how I'm doing since announcing my melanoma diagnosis back in October and I wanted to share a little health update for those that are curious.

If you need a refresher, my initial post is here, and my FAQ post is here

First off, it's been 6 months since my diagnosis.... SIX MONTHS. Holy cow. Where does the time go? It feels like just yesterday I was fighting for answers and trying to process the whole 'I have cancer, like real life cancer' thing. Blows my mind. However, I'm happy to report I'm doing well! So far so good with my treatment. Since starting the medications, my tumors have shrunk significantly and continue to get smaller with every check up.

For my visual friends, here is a photo showing progress!

The scan on the left is my initial scan when the melanoma was first discovered. The white hazy stuff circled is active melanoma. The pink arrow is pointing to one of my larger tumors. If you look at the scan on the right, my most recent scan, you'll see the haziness is gone, and the tumor size has shrunk significantly.

Now for the not so fun news. On top of melanoma, I also have Crohn's disease. Lucky me, right? Unfortunately treating melanoma and treating Crohn's are essentially polar opposite approaches, so finding that balance has been a challenge. I had a major flare recently (hence the slight absence in blogging and social media) that resulted in a 2-week hospital stay. I'm happy to report that I'm out, doing much better, and on a new medicine plan that should give my Crohn's the chill pill it very much needs, without upsetting the progress I've made treating my melanoma.

Not going to lie, this has been quite the battle that has really tested my strength, but I have to believe that everything happens for a reason and there is a greater purpose for my battle. Thank goodness for great friends and family to pick me up when I'm down. If I've learned anything thus far, it's that attitude is everything. Yes, I've had breakdown moments where I'm frustrated and mad that I've had to deal with so much all the of the sudden, but wallowing gets me nowhere. Everyday is a battle, and I'm going to keep fighting along.

Thank you all for your continued support and kind words, it really does mean so much to me. Putting this story out there is scary enough in the first place, but my goal is to hopefully inspire others and make a positive impact in some way or another.
