Lace Up Sweater

Hi friends! Hope you're all doing well! You may have seen on my Snapchat (@mallorysauer) or Instastory that my mom and I took a trip to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona for a second opinion for both my Crohn's and Cancer. As far as the melanoma goes, we're in a good spot and pleased with our current treatment plan. It was interesting to hear another doctor's opinion, though. The main purpose of the trip was for my Crohn's. Long story short, their doctor ran some tests and gave her initial thoughts, but would like me to come back in a few weeks for additional testing. The Mayo doctors will talk to my team in Denver and hopefully we'll have a plan soon! Even though I had the ileostomy surgery, I still have the symptoms related to active Crohn's. It's frustrating.

Now for this outfit! Last fall I found that I kept reaching for cute comfy sweaters and I never really had any. I think I wore the same two all season. This year, I've really made a point to find sweaters that are both cute and cozy, and will last. This one, in particular, has been a major favorite that I've been wearing nonstop. On the rare occasion that it's cold here (it was 75 degrees today), I've been throwing on a sweater, my favorite ripped jeans, and a cute pair of booties. So simple and no fuss. This look is super easy to accessorize with a fun purse, cute hat or bold lip.

Holiday Gift Guide - Beauty Edition!

Holy cow, can you believe the holiday season is already here?! I don't know about you guys, but I am such a procrastinator when it comes to holiday shopping. In fact I'm pretty sure that the most of my gift shopping was done on Christmas Eve last year. Talk about stressful. It's funny because I actually really enjoy shopping for the perfect gift for the special people in my life, but my lack of planning gets in the way and I'm not able to enjoy gift shopping as much as I'd like. This year my goal is to break the habit! I'm going to start my gift planning early so my shopping isn't so manic.

The good news is, you all get to benefit from my early gift planning! I'm putting together gift guides to share on Sweet & Sauer to help you with ideas and holiday shopping before things get too crazy.

Here's a little secret, I'm a beauty junkie. I love trying new beauty, makeup and skincare products and have an overwhelming collection of things I've tried. With that being said, I checked out all the gift sets Sephora and Ulta have to offer this year and picked my ten favorites that I thought offered a lot of value and make perfect gifts. I love beauty gift sets for the holidays because they offer variety at great price points. They also give beauty lovers, like myself, the opportunity to try out new products without committing to the full size thing just yet. All these sets I chose are such good deals, I want all of them for myself!

So here it is! The first guide from my Holiday Gift series - my favorite beauty gift sets under $50. I wanted to get this one out first with the Sephora VIB sale going on! If you're a Sephora VIB, you can use code 20VIB at checkout to receive 20% off your entire purchase! I'm working on getting one gift set out a week so you all have plenty of time to snag some goodies before it's crunch time. If there's a specific guide you'd like to see, let me know!

Adidas Tee

Hi friends! I failed once again at blogging last week. Why, you ask? STILL SICK. I've seriously had this annoying cold/virus situation for the last six weeks. It's super frustrating. Ok, enough complaining.

I'd say nine out of ten times you can find me in some version of jeans and a t-shirt. It's my go to outfit and what I feel most comfortable in. And the best part is, you can dress the combo up or down.

I've been eyeing (and loving) all the cool Adidas pieces lately. I recently was shopping with my girlfriends, and one of them bought this tee. Ever since, I could not get this darn t-shirt out of my head - so I caved and bought one for myself. I've been living in it ever since. I love the versatility that graphic tees provide. So far I've worn this one with leggings and sneakers, jeans, and (my favorite) leather pants. A simple shoe or pant change can take t-shirts from drab to fab (did I really just use that cliche phrase?). Best part about graphic tees? You don't need to do much else! Sometimes it's fun to add a sparkly bauble or other fun accessories, but totally not necessary. Sometimes it's easier to let graphic tees speak for themselves. I've linked this one and some other fun graphic tees in the tool below.

Hope you all had a fun weekend!
