Athleisure Series

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you had a good weekend and your week is off to a good start! Did you do anything fun this weekend? My weekend was jam packed with fashion events and blogger friends. Saturday, I was part of a photoshoot for Patterns & Pops with other wonderful Denver bloggers (stay tuned for the pics!), and Sunday I spent the day at Denver Style Magazine's Summer Service Sampler event. I just love the fashion community in Denver and love connecting with others who enjoy it as much as me.
Today I'm sharing with you a fun new series I'm starting on my blog. Focus - Athleisure. Athleisure is one of my absolute favorite trends because it essentialy combines my two favorite things - fashion and fitness. As a Pure Barre teacher, I spend a ton of time in workout clothes and have super busy on-the-go days. That being said, I need to go about my day looking like a presentable human being - and sometimes that means wearing workout clothes all day.
Layering pieces and accessories are the key to transitioning any workout look to an everyday look. In outfit one, the gym look shows hair up and sweatshirt on. Transition look - tie sweatshirt around waist, take your hair down (I'm a huge fan of messy hair, so work it girl!) with a baseball hat on top, and a cute bag over your shoulder. Done and done.
Look two is a little more exciting. For starters printed leggings are a major trend at the moment and are only gaining speed it seems. Because of these leggings being such a major trend, it's much easier to transition them outside the gym. The gym look is simple; printed leggings, sneakers and a white muscle tee. Transition look - throw on a long slouchy sweater, add a statement necklace and throw on your favorite sandals (mine happen to be Birkenstock these days).
Athleisure is done in so many ways. One way being transitioning gym to lifestyle (as shown), the other dresses down your everyday wear (think dresses, jeans, etc.) with sneakers. More to come on that in my next Athleisure series post!
Want to know a secret? All the clothing items I shared are fun new items coming to Sports Authority this Fall (I've linked items that are available now)! They have two different Private Label yoga lines (Bloom & Aspire) with tons of on-trend pieces that won't break the bank. Check it out!
Do you rock the Athleisure trend? How do you transition your workout clothes outside the gym?
P.S. In addition to Snapchat (mallorysauer), I started a Twitter account for Sweet & Sauer! Be sure to follow me on both to find out what I'm up to :)
