Happy Monday! I'm currently blogging from California! I'm out here for work - if you want to see what I'm up to, follow me on Snapchat - username mallorysauer.
I love this all black two-piece look. It's a nice shake up from a traditional maxi. Don't get me wrong, maxi dresses are one of my favorite spring/summer pieces, but I love that a two-piece set breaks up the outfit a bit. Plus you can wear the pieces separately with other items in your closet, giving you more bang for your buck. I decided to mix it up and really step out by wearing a dark lip. I have rocked a nude lip since 2005. We're talking concealer and lip gloss (I know, don't hold it against me) before they even made nude lip colors. It's just been my thing, and anyone that knows me can attest to that. BUT, I'm trying to branch out with lip colors - they're so fun! I loved this super dark vampy color and thought it added extra drama to the all black look. I loved stacking these two GORGEOUS rings for more of a statement look.
One of my goals for Sweet & Sauer is to share outfits that are simple, but still feel chic and stylish. I find that I'm most attracted to the most simple outfits that have an effortless edge. I like to emulate that with hair, accessories or shoes, or in the case of this out fit, lip color. You don't have to buy fancy extravagant pieces to look good. Sometimes all it takes is a good accessory or a good hair day :) What are some of your favorite ways to add a little extra oomph to an outfit?
