Knit Dress

Dress: Wilfred Free / Shoes: Birkenstock / Purse: Henri Bendel / Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Happy Monday, friends! Hope you all had an amazing weekend and a Happy Easter. Denver had beautiful weather this weekend so I definitely took advantage!

I wore this outfit on Saturday - the day included brunch, a meeting with a local boutique (and a collab that I can't WAIT to share with you!), and happy hour drinks. Needless to say, I needed an outfit that worked for all of the above. Enter this dress.

I got this dress while in New York a few weeks ago and I'm OBSESSED. The material is like a light-weight sweater, making it fitted without being too snug. I love the cut-out back detail giving it just that extra amount of sass. This dress is one of those pieces that can definitely be dressed up or down. I wore it to work with a jacket and some heels and the look was perfect. I ended up buying a skirt in this same material because I was just that obsessed with how comfortable the material is!

I decided to pair the dress with my silver Birkenstocks - and may I just say I'm so glad these babies are making a comeback. We saw them make a comeback last summer, and I have a feeling they're here to stay. And if not, well, I'll just be rocking them anyway :) I bought them for my trip to Europe last September - I'm a sucker for anything that's comfortable and has style, and the metallic silver did just that. I might even expand my collection and go for the matte-black or the rose gold Birks. Who knows!

I love a good monochrome look. Different shades of the same color - there's just something about it that always looks polished to me. Despite my messy hair (hey - it's the weekend! Also, I like a good messy 'do from time to time), this outfit was the perfect Saturday ensemble.

Have a great week everyone!

Black & Layers

Jacket: H&M (similar) / Black Tee: Nordstrom (similar, similar) / White Tunic: Inspyre Boutique (similar here) / Jeans: Inspyre Boutique / Shoes: Nike (my color here) / Hat: Nordstrom / Purse: Pimke (similar here) / Watch: Michael Kors / Silver Necklace: Chloe & Isabel / Silver Bracelet: House of Harlow (from Rocksbox) / Earrings: Urban Gem (from Rocksbox)

Oh New York. Where do I even begin. I fell in love with the city this weekend. The lights, the energy, the buildings - everything about it just made me swoon.

I spent the past weekend in New York City with my mom - we had a much needed girls weekend and boy was it fun. We stayed in Soho and explored all the major neighborhoods, shopped, ate, drank and enjoyed all the city had to offer. We had pretty decent weather for the most part, though it was a little chilly some days. Hence this outfit.

Our last day in the city we spent brunching and exploring. Translation: lots of walking. So I layered. I scored this white tunic for $10 a couple weekends ago from Inspyre Boutique at their blowout sale. It's a size bigger than what I would normally buy, but I actually love that it's a little big so I can be a little more versatile with it. I layered under this tee from Nordstrom (that I have in like 5 colors) and I loved the extra detail and visual interest the combo gave my outfit. It was fun and flirty but not too fussy. Paired with my favorite leather jacket, I felt polished and chic rather than frumpy and touristy for our final day in NYC. I just recently purchased these black destroyed skinny jeans and I'm so glad I did! I feel like black denim can look a little harsh sometimes, so the rips and tears add that extra something to take the outfit down a notch. I also love a good floppy hat, especially for those pesky bad hair days - this one always delivers. These sneakers will always be a favorite - they are super comfy and super cool. They are always a stand out. My favorite thing about this outfit is the combination of the unexpected. Layering under a shirt that looks perfectly fine on its own, a statement hat and finished with unexpected sneakers - its 100% me and will definitely be a repeat. I'm so simple and basic with my outfits - I love mixing and matching and paring the unexpected.

Now let's talk about my jewelry. I received this silver necklace as a gift from Chloe & Isabel. I found their jewelry on Instagram and immediately fell in love. They have beautiful statement pieces and a wide variety of styles so there is something for everyone. I encourage you to check them out and see for yourself!

The earrings and bracelet I'm wearing I received in my latest Rocksbox set. And I am OBSESSED. I've worn this bangle almost every day since my set arrived. I just love it! It looks great stacked with my watch, or great on its own. Simple yet statement. Right up my alley.

Tan & Black

                     Photo cred: Jathan Campbell

Sweater: Target (on sale!) / Pants: H&M / Shoes: Sole Society / Hat: Gift (similar here) / Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Target wins again. I found this great tan cardigan on sale a couple of weeks ago and was just giddy! love this color. It's a great neutral that is perfect for Spring transitions, in my opinion.

P.S. They still have it and it's under $10 in multiple colors... Just saying.

I wore this a couple of weeks ago when it was still blizzard central in CO. Pairing this color with black pants (oh yes you can mix black and brown) and burgundy shoes was perfect for the cool temperatures. But with Spring upon us and temperatures rising, it's the perfect layering piece to go with whites, pastels, and other colorful prints and hues. Earthy tones don't have to be limited to Fall and Winter - get adventurous with color mixing, you'd be surprised what you come up with and how actually awesome it looks!

In other news, have you bought yourself a pair of these pants yet??? I've been posting about them a lot lately (sorry... I'm not sorry ;)), but what can I say? An awesome pair of pants deserve to be loved. My style is all about simple pairings and transitional/versatile pieces. Gotta love when you find staple pieces that fit your style!

What are your favorite wardrobe staples? And what fun color combos have you paired lately? I'd love to hear! Who knows, maybe we'll inspire each other :)
