Tan & Black

Sweater: Target (on sale!) / Pants: H&M / Shoes: Sole Society / Hat: Gift (similar here) / Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Target wins again. I found this great tan cardigan on sale a couple of weeks ago and was just giddy! love this color. It's a great neutral that is perfect for Spring transitions, in my opinion.

P.S. They still have it and it's under $10 in multiple colors... Just saying.

I wore this a couple of weeks ago when it was still blizzard central in CO. Pairing this color with black pants (oh yes you can mix black and brown) and burgundy shoes was perfect for the cool temperatures. But with Spring upon us and temperatures rising, it's the perfect layering piece to go with whites, pastels, and other colorful prints and hues. Earthy tones don't have to be limited to Fall and Winter - get adventurous with color mixing, you'd be surprised what you come up with and how actually awesome it looks!

In other news, have you bought yourself a pair of these pants yet??? I've been posting about them a lot lately (sorry... I'm not sorry ;)), but what can I say? An awesome pair of pants deserve to be loved. My style is all about simple pairings and transitional/versatile pieces. Gotta love when you find staple pieces that fit your style!

What are your favorite wardrobe staples? And what fun color combos have you paired lately? I'd love to hear! Who knows, maybe we'll inspire each other :)

Jacket: Caslon / T-Shirt: Free People / Jeans: Zara / Shoes: Nike (my color here) / Sunglasses: Ray-Ban / Necklace: Vince Camuto

Oh look, another basic outfit with a statement piece. Am I predictable or what? What can I say - I like what I like! For real though. This is my weekend uniform. Jeans, a good tee, fun sneakers (or my favorite booties seen here) and a jacket. Give me that and I'm in heaven.

This jacket I absolutely LOVE. I was on the hunt for a great lightweight camo jacket and finally found this one at Nordstrom! I've dressed it down (case in point - this outfit) and I've also dressed it up over a LBD (see that pic below). I love jackets like this that can speak for themselves and add that extra little spice to an outfit.

Now let me tell you about these shoes. I am IN LOVE. I am such a sucker for cool sneakers and find that my collection keeps growing. I got these for Christmas and find any excuse I can to wear them. They're fun, they're comfortable and they just look plain cool. I love the pop of lime green in the lining and on the bottom of the shoe as well.

Sweater: Tobi (on sale!) / Skirt (actually a slip): Nordstrom (similar) Other option: H&M / Boots: Ivanka Trump (on sale!) / Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Finally! This was my absolute FAVORITE outfit I wore when shooting pictures with Jathan. I'm so excited to share this post with you!

I loooooove a good baggy sweater, and this, my friends, is a GREAT baggy sweater. Bonus! It's off the shoulder - aka my weakness. I typically pair this baby with leggings and some boots and call it a casual day. But every once in a while it's fun to find new ways to dress up traditionally casual pieces.

I saw two different outfits that I knew I wanted to recreate, and they both involve an oversized sweater with just a hint of skirt peeking out. So I gave it a shot and made it happen using this sweater. Spoiler alert! My skirt is actually a slip... gasp! I liked the subtle lace detail and the contrast the silk fabric added to the outfit. For a less daring option, this basic skirt from H&M would look just as killer (I have this skirt in 3 different colors). I felt surprisingly glamorous in this outfit. Something about the baggy sweater and thigh high boots, man I felt like I could take on the world!

Finding outfits you love and exploring different ways to recreate is one of my favorite things to do. And nine times out of ten it can be done by shopping your own closet and getting creative. If you've done this I'd love to hear about it! Share with me your outfit recreating stories - maybe we can inspire each other!
