Open Back Sweater

Happy Wednesday, hope your week is going well! Yesterday I did my first photoshoot post ileostomy surgery, and I'm happy to say it went well! Figuring out how to dress with this bag has been interesting so it was nice to put on real clothes and shoot photos and feel good! In other news, I started watching Grey's Anatomy recently and I'm here to admit that my binge watching level is bordering on unhealthy. How am I just now getting into this show?!

I wanted this sweater SO bad last fall, but was too late and not able to snag one in my size. Thankfully, it's back and was part of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. Score! I am obsessed with anything with an open back. It's safe to say I'll be wearing this comfy piece a lot. It's the perfect piece to pair with cute, strappy bralettes. As for these jeans - they're my first pair of AG Jeans and I'm in love. Again, how am I so late to this party?! They fit so nicely and have the perfect amount of stretch. Definitely a brand I will be returning to in the future.

Have a great rest of your week!

Long Sleeve Dress & Luca Love

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! So I posted a picture of myself on Instagram showing my ileostomy bag and holy cow, the response has been amazing. I never expected so many people to like and comment and see and just be inspired by it. I can't tell you how great that feels. I'm putting all of this out there to help people, and to see that I am makes me so incredibly happy. I can't even put into words how grateful I am for all of the love and support. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. I'm going to do a post later this week talking about my ileostomy - stay tuned!

I snagged this dress from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and it is definitely going to be in heavy rotation. I'm actually considering picking it up in a couple other colors I love it that much. The fit is perfect and it's definitely one of those easy to throw on and look cute pieces. Plus, the bell sleeves and cutout detail in the back give the dress an extra little something. Also, I just love wearing dresses like this with booties in the fall. I can't wait to add a fur vest to this look once the temps get cooler!

Now let's talk about my bracelets! Stacking bracelets with a statement watch is one of my absolute favorite jewelry trends. The three bracelets I'm wearing are from Luca Love, a company that specializes in bracelets handmade by low income women in Columbia. Their mission is to provide opportunities of employment and essential necessities to those who need it most. If you couldn't tell from my last post, I like to support companies that give back. I love when my passion for fashion (hey, I'm a cheesy rhymer!) can do something good for other people. Definitely check out Luca Love bracelets, they have a ton of super cute options!

Make it a great week friends, thanks for stopping by!

Happy Monday everyone! Thank you again for all the kind words last week with my Crohn's post. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the love! I'm happy to report the surgery went well and I'm recovering at home. I'm feeling pretty good so far and adjusting to life with my new accessory.

I can't tell you how many compliments I get when I wear this top! It's seriously one of my favorites. It's super comfortable and light-weight. It's perfect for being dressed up or down, which we all know I just love. These shorts... you guys. These are Abercrombie & Fitch shorts from college. I can't believe they still fit. Thank goodness the boyfriend short look is still going strong, right? Don't you just love shopping your closet and finding old treasures that still work?

Now let's talk about this headband. How pretty is it?! I'm such a fan of fashion that gives back, and Headbands of Hope falls right into that category. For every headband purchased, Headbands of Hope gives a headband to a child with cancer. You can read about how the company started here. I already have such a love and appreciation for companies that give back, however this company is particularly special to me as I'm fighting cancer myself. I love that these headbands make these children feel special and good about themselves during such a challenging time. It must be devastating to these kids to lose their hair through chemotherapy. Anything to help make them happy and feel better about themselves makes me happy. Plus, all their headbands are super cute so it's a win win! Fighting health issues is tough and can definitely wear on your self-esteem after a while. I'm all for something that's encouraging and helps others feel good.
